ABOUT

Vidar Ingvaldsen is an artist from Haugesund located on the beautiful Western coast of Norway. Born and raised in this wet and wild climate, he grew up listening to a mix of everything from classical to heavy music, often with a touch of melancholy. Vidar studied both trumpet and drums in his youth.

After spending 4 years in the Deep South of America, Vidar moved back to Bergen, Norway. There, he joined the growing local indie music scene, playing electronic pop and progressive indie rock. From 2002-2016 he toured internatiopnally and released music with bands such as Syme and members of Casiokids, Black Rhino/Junk Machine in Bergen and Slaves To Fashion from Haugesund.

In the Fall of 2016 Ingvaldsen started recording his first solo album. Leif Johansen (a-ha, Thin Lizzy, Rita Eriksen, Stable Studios-Oslo) and Kjetil Steensnæs (Bjørn Eidsvåg, Darling West, Maria Mena) were both heavily involved with the making of the album, released on September 10, 2018 by Cracker Factory Music.

The album consists of 8 pop and rock songs, with strong melodies and clear vocals. Vidar writes English lyrics, dealing with both personal thoughts and more general human relations.
The album track In The Dark has rotated on Norwegian Radio 102s Top 40 list this Fall.
